Our porringers, like the majority of our items, are microwave- and dishwasher-safe. It is recommended, however, to ensure the product has been thoroughly dried before storing it in a confined place.
Indeed, earthenware (faïence) remains slightly porous and thus needs to evacuate moisture that was absorbed during washing up. For that reason, an object made of earthenware will most likely be warmer when taken out of the microwave oven than its porcelain counterpart for example.
Food compatibility
Our products are regularly tested by independent laboratories for their compatibility with food contact, and in particular for the absence of lead and cadmium.
The most recent tests were performed in May 2005 by the Industrial Technical Centre of the Ceramic, part of the French Society of Ceramic.
Results confirmed that the samples tested are in full compliance with EU legislation according to the NF EN 1388-1: 1996 standard.
